I'm telling you guys, I was thiiiis close to not entering this.
Last night I'm taking a break from working on it (at the last minute, as usual) and I started browsing around some of the other entries. And I come across one from

, and when I saw it, I didn't want to enter mine anymore, not because it's really good, but because the layout is so so SO similar to mine. AND it's really good. Intimidatingly good. AND she submitted it TWO WEEKS before the deadline. That's not human...
In the end I decided to look at it as a test of willpower, and put it up anyway. Plus I'd already put so much time into it, be a shame to just let it sit.
Anyway, enough about that, here's the bit about the picture:
this hasn't actually happened to me, but I'm hopeful.
And for the record, I did read "He's Just Not That Into You" and I ...well I guess "liked" is too strong a word, because it said a heck of a lot of things I didn't want to hear. But I agree with them. Darnit.
But I did the picture this way because for all the times we get hung up on someone and we KNOW they're not interested, that doesn't keep us from thinking how cool it'd be if they were.
Created in Illustrator. I had plans to make it REALLY elaborate, with tons of funny titles on the books and lots of decorations on the walls, but I completely ran out of time. Might go back later and spruce it up. Ever seen Phil Foglio's work? Something like that...
